Bonnie is our Head Chef and is a founding member of the Sen Wellness Sanctuary team after joining when we very first opened. Aged 18 and just out of school, Bonnie started out in the role of Kitchen Assistant. He learned to cook Sri Lankan dishes from his mum at home and the Sanctuary has given him a supportive environment to learn and grow.
Over the years his passion for food has developed and he has harnessed this passion by mastering the techniques of authentic Sri Lankan cooking the Ayurvedic way, and creating sophisticated, balanced dishes that suit the Western constitution.
Bonnie loves to learn and collaborate with our visiting international chefs, co-creating new dishes with them. He also enjoys sharing his passion and knowledge in the weekly cooking demonstrations with the Sanctuary guests.
Born locally, Bonnie is the main bread winner in his family and is exemplary to the local young community. He is very popular with our guests. In his spare time, you will find him threading ladies’ eye brows, doing pedicures and make up, and entertaining our guests in the evening with his legendary Bollywood dance routines.
